Depths of Despair is a multiplayer Soulsborne action RPG. Play as the disgraced war hero Jeret Amaranth, and save the Kingdom of Acacia, which has spent the last thousand years felled by the Everdark Curse, with the help of the sorceress Qyn. Explore the bewitched kingdom inhabited by immortal monsters that had once been innocent people and animals. Rebuild it with one person restored at a time blooming into whole villages and counties, until you save the entirety of Acacia. But be careful who you save and when you save them; if you save the wrong person at the wrong time, they might be dead the next time you check in on them.

  • Uncurse the Kingdom of Acacia one person, one village, one county at a time. Find your reward not only in the satisfaction of rebuilding something ruined, but also in the unique stories of each person that you help—that you save, when for so long you couldn’t even help yourself, much less save anyone. Should you fail to save someone, you won’t get to hear their irreplaceable piece of the picture.

  • Combat takes place with an active party of four, with each one playing their own, be it Breaker, Staker, Curse-Taker, or Shaker. You have full freedom to develop your dream team, with up to 64 recruitable characters you can meet during your journey.

  • With the Kingdom of Acacia having five counties, you get even more base building and management per kingdom than previously bargained for! But don’t worry about the dreaded grind for basic resources. Once you defeat the boss of the capital of a county and conquer it, you keep the keep as headquarters for your growing forces, and you unlock county-level management where you get to tell other people to do the boring chores.

  • The goal is to save everyone you can, which means that you have to be careful not to let anyone slip through the cracks and make smart decisions to ensure that everyone reaches a happy ending. The worst thing that could happen is a moment of carelessness getting someone you saved killed because you unwittingly left them in an area with lingering hostile entities.

  • Depths of Despair is an action RPG for 1–4 players that’s like a mix of Dark Souls, Fallout 4, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

  • For now, the only platform Depths of Despair is being developed for is PC. It will be available through Steam and Epic Games Store.

    The game is currently in pre-production with the concept, story, and mechanics essentially built out. It is ready-to-code. The release date is yet to be decided.
